Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent, an exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to join the team at Oaky Creek North Mine.  

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordination of basic and intermediate incident management process and statutory reporting and obligations
  • Support the Health and Safety Superintendent in health and safety programs and initiatives
  • Support key stakeholders in health and safety targeted visible leadership programs and conduct target visible leadership activities for both underground and surface operations
  • Advise key stakeholders in GCAA and QLD Coal Mining Legislative compliance and safety processes.

About you:

  • Extensive (minimum 3 years) experience in a similar role in underground mining operations or similar industry and a strong understanding of QLD Coal Mining Legislation.
  • Relevant HSE qualifications (minimum of Diploma in OHS and experience in ICAM methodology)
  • Have strong demonstrated skills in complex and intermediate incident investigations, high potential incidents and incident database management
  • Strong experience in risk management and risk assessment processes. Coordination and facilitation of Risk assessments and adherence to statutory obligations
  • Strong stakeholder engagement across all levels on mine sites
  • Coordination of health and safety initiatives and programs
  • Accurate record keeping with attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
