Clermont Open Cut is currently seeking an experienced Fitter to join our high performing CHPP Maintenance Team on site. Clermont Open Cut produces close to 12 million tonnes of coal per year and is a high performing, low cost, truck & shovel operation, located on the western edge of the Bowen Basin. Clermont Open Cut Operation is a safe, dynamic and inclusive workplace focused on delivering high performance outcomes.  The role will offer variety and opportunity to the right individual.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • The safe and effective maintenance of Clermont Open Cut’s Coal Handling & Preparation Plant (CHPP)
  • Undertaking preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on equipment such as pumps, conveyors and hydraulic systems
  • Performing mechanical fault finding and diagnostics work at the CHPP & Train Load Out
  • Promoting and maintaining a high level of positive safety performance & workplace culture through teamwork, personal commitment, and application of the Clermont Open Cut values
  • Promoting positive relationships with our stakeholders & community; and
  • Taking all reasonable steps to minimise impact on the environment

Requirements for the role include:

  • Trade Qualification - Fitter – Mechanical
  • 5+ years’ experience in fixed plant operations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of coal processing
  • Strong commitment to safety and a continuous improvement culture
  • The ability to follow a plan and the resilience to adapt to the dynamic changing environment
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and a commitment to working proactively
  • Be a team player with a high level of safety awareness
  • QLD Drivers Licence
  • Current Standard 11 (desirable)
  • Current Coal Board Medical (desirable)
