Reporting to the Environment and Community Manager, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and qualified Environment and Community Advisor to join the team at Oaky Creek Coal.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Providing leadership to drive excellence in environment and community engagement.
- Provide technical advice and operational support.
- Onsite environmental and community stakeholder activities across the underground, surface and CHPP operations.
- Offsite stakeholder management activities covering the township of Tieri, neighbouring properties and exploration tenure.
- Developing strong working relationships with operations personnel, traditional owners, local business owners, community groups, pastoral and other relevant stakeholders
- Planning and implementing biodiversity and pest management programs, hydrology assessments, progressive rehabilitation certification applications, auditing systems and performance monitoring.
- Initiatives to progress responsible mining.
About you:
- High performing, a systems thinker, goal orientated and highly organised.
- Able to demonstrate your commitment to a high performing safety culture.
- Hold a tertiary qualification in environmental science/engineering and/or social science, with community development expertise.
- Experience with and a working knowledge of Queensland mine site activities.
- Have attention to detail in reporting and good written/verbal communication skills.

This is a Monday to Friday role based in Tieri, with the opportunity to apply for a nine-day fortnight.
